Dear Sir,

Hong Kong South Development Scheme.

As over two and a half months have now elapsed since I
received your letter No. 2214/1919 dated 25th, January, I write to
ask if you will be so good as to say whether the formation of a
Company for the above scheme can now be proceeded with.?
I think it will be unnecessary to urge that no further
time should be lost, for, during the war, when nothing could be done,
the Promoters were continually pressed by the Hong Kong Government.
After the signing of the armistice immediate steps were
taken for the formation of a Company and if we had received sanction
to proceed, the work would, by this time, probably have bees
commenced on site.
A point of considerable importance is that unless the
contracts for equipment are placed very shortly Firms will be busy
On Home orders and unable to give early delivery. H.M.Government is
emphasising the importance of Export trade to rectify the present
adverse financial position.
The Promoters would therefore be muck obliged if you
would kindly use your good offices and influence to effect an
immediate settlement so that the Company can be formed and the work
put in hand at the earliest possible date.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
E. T. Williams:
